Composites
2024-2025
The composites sub-team plays a crucial role of creating lightweight, high-performing, and durable carbon fiber components of the car such as the front wing, undertray, and rear wing.
Combined with utilizing engineering simulations like computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize the design of each component, ensuring both aerodynamic efficiency and structural integrity.
The composites sub-team requires a deep understanding in aero design, cooling strategies, and manufacturing techniques to uphold high performance and quality. Moreover, the composites sub-team focus on driver ergonomics, traditional bodywork components, and much more.
This involves a deep understanding in mold manufacturing techniques to create custom molds needed to shape complex geometry. Guaranteeing full commitment to the entire design process from initial concepts, validations, manufacture, and testing to ensure reliability and meeting specifications in performance such as high downforce and minimal drag.
