Frank Nguyen is a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology and is currently the FSAE President. He has been an active member of the team since fall 2023 and is now on his 4th semester with the team. As President, he focuses on sponsor relations, recruitment, and setting clear goals and expectations for the season. Frank leads general meetings, supports sub-team leads with design resources, and actively works to secure new sponsorships while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners. Outside of Formula, Frank is a huge hockey fan and travels with Mtich’s Misfits to see many of the away games. His leadership is helping drive the team’s momentum as they build toward a successful competition with the F26.
Michael Langdon is a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He has been a dedicated member of the team since Spring 2023 and is now in his 6th semester. He has attended more than 13 Formula SAE racing events and driven at 8 of them. Outside of Formula, Michael enjoys working on his personal projects, including his 1984 Corvettes, 1950 Chevy Pickup, and other classic cars. Michael brings experience and passion to the team, and he is excited to lead the team in achieving its goals this year.
Owen Irvine is a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He has been a crucial member of the team since joining in Spring 2023. He is currently in his 4th semester and serves as the Sub-team Lead for Formula SAE’s separate electric vehicle program. Outside of Formula, Owen has been restoring classic cars for over nine years, beginning with a first-generation Ford Taurus SHO. He also enjoys skiing and snowboarding in the winter and is an active member of Michigan Tech’s Club Soccer Team. Owen brings the leadership and technical expertise needed to build the foundations of a successful electric vehicle program at MTU.
Effie Konstantatou is a Sophomore majoring in Engineering Management. She has been a dedicated member of the team since Fall 2024 and is now in her 3rd semester and is responsible for managing the team’s finances, outreach, and public presence. From budgeting and sponsorship relations to social media, merchandise, and event planning, the team ensures resources are secured and the program stays connected with its supporters. Outside of Formula, Effie is an international student-athlete from Greece and a member of Michigan Tech’s Varsity Tennis Team. She is passionate about racing, working on cars, reading, and boxing. She brings balance between the engineering and business aspects of Formula SAE, along with an international perspective that helps drive the team’s success.
Aaron Nicolson is a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and is the Chassis Sub-team Lead. He has been a dedicated member of the team since Fall 2023. He leads the design, manufacturing, and testing of the car’s structural foundation, with a strong emphasis on component design and suspension integration. For his senior capstone project, Aaron is developing a damper dyno to help characterize and tune the F26’s suspension system for improved vehicle performance. He designed the front suspension package for the F25 and has attended 4 different competitions with the team. He has also transported the F24 across the boarder for one of them in Canada. His contributions include designing the front suspension package for the F25 and attending four competitions. Aaron’s hands-on experience, technical skill, and leadership make him an essential part of the team’s continued success.
Caleb Olson is a Junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and is the Sub-team Lead for Composites and Aerodynamics. His work focuses on the design and manufacturing of aerodynamic, structural, and driver interface components. This semester, Caleb has been instrumental in correlating CFD simulation to data taken from wind tunnel testing at Ford, refining the car’s center of pressure and advancing features like a full DRS active aero system, which contribute to improved performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability. Outside of Formula, Caleb enjoys sim racing, spending time with friends and girlfriend, watching IMSA, WEC, F1, and 3D printing things of interest.
Carter Langdon is a Junior majoring in Electrical Engineering and is the Electrical Sub-team Lead. He oversees the design and construction of the car’s electrical harnesses, which distribute power and data across all systems. His team is responsible for selecting and implementing sensors for data collection, as well as troubleshooting existing harnesses for both the dynos and the car. Outside of Formula SAE, Carter enjoys working on his car, spending time outdoors and reading. Carter’s technical expertise and leadership ensure that all sub-teams have reliable access to performance data, enabling informed design decisions and continuous development.
Evan Pogorzelski is a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology student and the Sub-team Lead for Powertrain. He has been a dedicated member of the team since Spring 2023 and now is in his 4th semester. Evan oversees the design and refinement of the car’s spec power system, ensuring that power is efficiently generated and delivered to the ground. This semester, Evan and his team are collaborating closely with the composites and electrical teams to integrate sidepods into the car design. Outside of Formula, Evan enjoys fishing and camping on the weekends and has been snowboarding for 12 years. With a strong foundation in thermal and fluid systems and a passion for building engines, Evan brings hands-on expertise, technical leadership, and a drive for innovation that are essential to the continued growth and success of the Formula SAE team.
